El Dorado Hills Real Estate

El Dorado Hills is the gem of El Dorado County. The town is located 25 miles east of Sacramento along Highway 50 on oak studded, rolling Sierra foothills. Most of the homes in El Dorado Hills are located between Highway 50 and Folsom Lake. South of Highway 50 is a business park, some homes and a small commercial center.

El Dorado Hills is a bedroom community with one major super market and an assortment of restaurants and small retail and service businesses. The good news is that most shopping needs can be met in nearby Folsom.

El Dorado Hills, for the most part, is a master planned community. Many of the homes are located in neighborhoods which are designed as villages, each with its own character. There is a community center with a recreation center, an Olympic size pool, baseball and soccer fields. There are numerous parks dotted throughout town, one or more per village.

El Dorado Hills elevation varies from about 700 feet to 1200 feet. The hills offer views of Sacramento and the Valley, Folsom Lake and the snow capped Sierra Mountains in winter. On a clear day, Mt. Diablo is visible to the south and the Sutter Buttes are visible to the north.

If El Dorado Hills is the gem of El Dorado County, then the master planned community of Serrano is the crown jewel. Serrano consists of a number of gated communities with generous amounts of open space interspersed. The center piece of Serrano is an 18 hole golf course surrounded by elegant custom homes. Home prices start in the $200,000 and go well over $1,000,000.

El Dorado Hills offers a broad assortment of homes, both in price and amenities. Prices start in the mid $100,000 and go over $1,000,000 even outside Serrano. The northeast end of town has 5 acre parcels. Homes in other parts of town offer 1 acre or less. There are a large number of custom built homes varying in age from new to 25 years. Many of these homes reside on oak studded lots and come with resident deer, gray squirrels, woodpeckers, an occasional rabbit or fox and flocks of wild turkeys.
